December 24 Happy Christmas from MSN Tech & GadgetsPosted by: Nik Taylor Thanks to all our readers for visiting the site and this blog over 2008. We look forward to keeping you entertained with more features and news on gaming and gadgets in the New Year! In the meantime, here's some of our best stuff from the last couple of weeks... Have a great Christmas! December 12 Game onPosted by: Nik Taylor As if us gamers weren't busy enough with the zillion triple-A games that have been released over the past month, this week has seen another couple of big stories break. First up, PlayStation Home has finally launched (in open beta mode, at least). With the PS3 also home to big exclusives like LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2 and the upcoming Killzone 2, all it needs now is a decent price drop and it will be a major threat to X360 as the biggest selling 'serious' gamer's console. The other big story has been the launch in Japan of a playable Resident Evil 5 demo on Xbox Live. Sure, it's only available in Japan, but resourceful gamers elsewhere have quickly found a way round that... Talking of gaming, have you taken part in our battle to find the best game of 2008? We're declaring the winner on Monday, so you've only got a couple of days to get voting. Once you've done that, take a look at this week's latest and greatest on T&G:
Other stuff we've liked... How essential is a crocodile-skinned X360? Christmas isn't complete until you own a Yoda dressed as Santa. Had one too many cups of tea before your round of golf? Never fear. Check out this awesome selection of free games to play online. Here's what to do when Google Street View comes to your town.
December 05 Weekly T&G round-upPosted by: Jane Douglas Another week, another seven days closer to Christmas and we've barely started our festive shopping. But at least we've got plenty of good ideas, having produced features on top gadget stocking fillers and the most searched-for gadgets this Christmas. I've mostly been playing with the lovely-looking Prince of Persia, Far Cry 2 and, to my shame, Barbie Fashion Show for the Nintendo DS. My excuse for the latter is this much older game: Barbie for the Commodore 64. I wondered if the DS game might bring fond C64 memories flooding back. It didn't, but I assume Barbie's incessant in-game praise* would boost the self-esteem of a fashion-mad eight-year-old. Gadget-wise, I've been testing out a Tissot T-Touch touchscreen watch, which can monitor how deep the London Underground is taking me, and renewing my appreciation for the sound quality on the Creative Zen X-Fi. *"I would never have thought of that!" |
